Privacy policy

What we collect
- Account: your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name. We use Firebase Authentication (Google) to sign you in.
- Your content: your chats, looks, saved themes, AI characters and the things you ask your AIs to remember. They are stored in Google Cloud Firestore so they sync across your devices.
- Usage counters: how many messages you send per day, to apply the free plan's limit.
- Anonymous usage stats: events like "message sent" or "character created", with no chat text, through Firebase Analytics (Google). No advertising ID is collected. Turn it off in Account → Privacy and data.
- Reports: if you report a reply or a character, we store the report, the reply and the message before it.
How messages are answered
When you send a message, it is sent with your recent chat history, the character's settings and its memories to OpenAI, which generates the reply. If you attach a photo (Personal and Pro), it is sent to OpenAI with that message so the AI can see it. Photos stay on your phone: they are not stored on our servers or synced to your other devices. AI portraits: when you create a look for an AI, your description (and a selfie, if you choose to start from one) is sent to OpenAI to draw the picture. We don't keep the selfie; the finished portraits are saved on your phone. OpenAI processes this data for us and does not use it to train its models under its API terms. We don't send your email address to OpenAI.
What we don't do
We don't sell your data, we don't show ads or use advertising IDs, and your chats are never shown to other people. If you publish a character, only its name, description, look, personality settings, greeting and instructions become public, never your chats or its memories.
Your choices
- Turn off chat history in Account → Privacy and data. Your chats are then removed from your account.
- Export your data, delete all chats, or delete your account (with everything in it) in Account → Privacy and data.
- Edit or clear what each AI remembers on its Memory page.
Retention
We keep your content until you delete it or your account. Daily usage counters are kept for up to 90 days. Reports are kept for up to one year.
Payments
Subscriptions are handled by Google Play. We receive confirmation of your plan, not your payment details.
Children
Molly is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including the EU/EEA under GDPR) you can access, correct, export or delete your data, and complain to a data protection authority (in Sweden: IMY). Write to hello@mrbooz.com.
